Exclusive Boat Show Marine Seminars and a Variety of Stage Events
Communicating the World on the Water

With the concept of "Making Every Day at the Boat Show Fun," both venues have a variety of events scheduled for each day of the show's duration. These include the special Marine Seminars teaching all sorts of things about the sea, talk shows on stage, the Sailing Village for learning all about sailboats and the Small-Boat Area focusing on rubber boats. Each of these areas also has its own schedule of fun events.

Introducing a Variety of Marine Recreation to Bring the Water World to Your Lifestyle

16 Special Marine Seminars You Can't Hear Anywhere Else

 

With "Having Fun Learning About Marine Recreation" as its motto, a series of workshop seminars will be held at the Pacifico Yokohama and are designed to be fun and informative for people from beginners to veterans. Over the duration of the Boat Show, 16 seminars will be held a total of 22 times. The lineup of must-hear seminars for enthusiasts includes advice for mini-boat recreation, how to shoot aerial images with a drone, makeup tips for women before heading onto the water, and development stories behind the Lexus Sport Yacht Concept. Those who make a reservation to attend these seminars will also receive gifts from the sponsor companies.

Premium Night

 

On March 9th (Fri.), show hours will be extended to 8:00 p.m. to host the Premium Night program. Jazz singer Maya Hatch will be giving a special live performance onstage, so we hope you will be there to enjoy the music and evening atmosphere.

A Fun and Exciting Competition Among Boat Manufacturers
"This Is How I Sport Fish" 2018

 

Four different boat manufacturers have teamed up with sea-loving fishing enthusiasts to introduce the magic of angling. Each representative will compete for victory through the number of Likes they garner on Facebook during the event, onsite voting following booth presentations and the actual catches they bring in.

This area introduces the appeal of sailing with exhibits of smaller sailboats, information about sailing schools around the country, and offshore racing with large sailing yachts. This area is your ticket to the enjoyable world of sailing, for everyone from beginners wanting to learn to seasoned veterans.

 

Small Boats Still Carry Big Dreams

Inflatable boats are the main products on display in the Small-Boat Area, and the different manufacturers provide easy-to-understand information about rigging and different ways of using them. See a range of small boats popular for their easy transportability.

 

Introducing the Joys of Life with a Personal Watercraft

PWC World

The Boat Show gives manufacturers a venue not just to show off their latest personal watercraft (PWC) models, but also display and sell trailers and various accessories. There are also several special stage events planned, including a presentation of the latest wetsuit collections and a collaborative event with GirlsBiker magazine.

 

Looking Toward the 2020 Tokyo Olympics

Olympic Sailing Support Project

The Boat Show is a supporter of the Olympic sailing events scheduled for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This area will have competition sailboats on display and video introductions of Olympic sailing to communicate the appeal of the sport. Plans also call for appearances by sailors with Olympic experience.

 

A Relaxing Time at the Marina

Marina Café

A limited-time Marina Café will open at the Pacifico Yokohama. Themed around "A Relaxing Time at the Marina," the café is designed in the image of a seaside pier and the relaxing atmosphere it brings. For the 2018, the café is positioned near the event stage and is waiting to welcome you.

 

A Full Spectrum of Marine Lifestyles

Marine Lifestyle Zone

On display here are a choice selection of cars, accessories and the like adding vibrancy to the marine lifestyle, as well as a selection of fashion brands for a more relaxing onboard experience. See all this at the Marine Lifestyle Zone.

STU48 Talk Show: "We Love the Sea-Let's Go to Sea!"

Making their major debut on January 31st, 2018, STU48 is the first wide-area 48 pop idol group based out of the seven prefectures of the Setouchi region of Japan. Three members of the group will share what the Seto Inland Sea and water means to them, and info on their upcoming shows. A certain ceremony is also planned on stage that day...

The Next Challenge: A Special Seminar from Ocean Adventurer Kojiro Shiraishi

The Boat Show has invited ocean adventurer Kojiro Shiraishi to talk to marine enthusiasts about the passion that goes into challenges, like the round-the-world Vendée Globe race to be held in 2020.

 

Forza Marine Style Talk Show with Yoshimasa Hoshiba

This talk show will center mainly on marine fashion with Yoshimasa Hoshiba, who is active in television, radio and newspaper media and serves as the chief editor of the Kodansha webzine Forza Style.

Sea-Loving Women Talk About a Happy Marine Life

Angler Michie Ishizaki and image consultant Yumi Ochi will talk about the marine life, from its joy and their love for it. The second half of their show will up the ante when a certain male model joins them on stage.

Tahitian and Hula Dance Show

March 10 (Sat.) 13:10-13:40 and 16:10-16:40

Shiho Takahashi, the overall winner of the solo division at the Tahiti Heiva in Japan dance contest in 2009, will put on a Tahitian hula dance performance with her Ka Pa Hula O Kealaokapikake & Vaea Tahiti dance group.

Free Inflatable Lifejacket Inspection Campaign

This campaign aims to give users peace of mind when an unforeseen accident occurs on the water. Throughout the duration of the Boat Show, you can bring in inflatable lifejackets (see the following list of eligible manufacturers with lifejackets approved by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure Transport and Tourism) for a free inspection.

* Your inspection will be smoother with a prior reservation.

* Inspection requires approx. 3 hours from time of receipt to return.
1) Simple air chamber leakage inspection
2) Inflation device (cylinder, cartridge, etc.) inspection
3) Exterior (cover, belts, etc.) inspection
The inspection is only a check for any problems in use and it does not include replacement of defective parts and/or repairs. After the inspection, you will be informed of the following: Example 1: A spool replacement is recommended.
Example 2: A defect was found in the cylinder and immediate replacement is recommended.
Example 3: No defects were found.
* Only products of manufacturers approved by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure Transport and Tourism are eligible for inspection.
* Inspections will only be made on lifejackets brought to the venue in person.
* As a general rule, inspection will be made on no more than two lifejackets per person.

 

Used Boat Fair 2018

The Used Boat Fair 2018 will feature an array of high quality used motorboats, sailboats and PWCs displayed by members of the Japan Used Boat Association.

Boating License Renewal/Replacement Course

During the Boat Show, a course will be held at the Pacifico Yokohama on March 11 (Sun.) for people wishing to renew their boat operator license or replace a lost/stolen one.

Boat Ride Experience Event (Yokohama Bayside Marina)

 

An experience possible with the waterside venue and no license necessary for brief operation

This experiential boat ride program is possible thanks to the waterside facilities of the Yokohama Bayside Marina venue. This popular program enables visitor to experience boats out on the water where even people without a license can experience operating a motorboat or crewing on a sailboat. Programs are prepared to cater to people of different levels of skill and experience, from complete beginners to veterans.
